Job Title: Department Manager
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
- Creating and implementing merchandising plans
- Leading and growing associate teams
- Managing store operations
- Coordinate sales promotion activities and prepares, or direct associates in preparing merchandise displays for periodic advertisement.
- Ensures inventory levels are in accordance with company standards.
- Develops and maintains positive employee relations as well as positive customer relations.
- Ensures compliance with all Loss Prevention, Asset Protection and Safety Programs for both customers and associates.
- Ensures a clean and organizaed sales floor, on which to properly merchandise product.
- Payroll control and staffing.
- Ensures that the store in in-stock with all available and appropriate merchandise on a daily basis.
- Continues training/development of Assistant Store Managers and Supervisors with the intent of future growth.
- Participates in company committees for the development of new standards and directives.
SKILLS:
- 2-4 years retail management experience.
- Exceptionally strong merchandising skills with a focus on cross-merchandising.
- Ability to evaluate sales trends, and proactively drive sales through forecasting, ordering, and product placement. Strong interpersonal and development skills, sense of urgency, leadership, team building, results achievement and customer service driven.
Also:
- Ability to lift 30 pounds or more and climb up and down ladders.
- Work flexible schedule with one day off during the week and one weekend day.
- Stand and walk 8-10 hours a day.
