POSITION TITLE
Virtual Recruiter

 

POSITION SUMMARY
Working primarily with the Recruiting Manager, the Virtual Recruiter’s primary function will be to perform the tasks necessary to meet the talent acquisition needs of our clients. All of the work will be telephone and computer-based unless there is some kind of special circumstance or client need that requires face to face interaction. The role will be intensely orientated toward screening candidates and forwarding candidates who have passed the screen to clients or affiliates.

 

WORK ACCOUNTABLE

Responsible for identifying, screening, and forwarding qualified candidates for client positions. The Recruiter does this through the methods as documented in the Virtual Recruiter Operations Manual. The Recruiter is accountable for at least the following: 

 

  • Work with the client or Recruiting Manager to get a full understanding of the job requisition, client information, the job market and other benefits to adequately screen candidates.

  • Develop a specific sourcing strategy and plan for each job requirement. 

  • In partnership with the Recruiting Manager search for resumes/candidates primarily utilizing established on-line resume databases, internet job postings, internet sources, internal databases and other sources. 

  • Develop and implement strategies, plans, and tasks for creative sourcing of candidates if necessary. Alternative creative sources could include but are not limited to AIRS Oxygen searches, Google searches, networking events, University alumni postings, cold-calling lists, referrals, niche web sites and more. 

  • Screen and re-qualify potential candidates depending on the needs of the client. This usually includes availability, interest level, United States employment eligibility status salary range, commute and distance to client site, communication skills, client cultural fit, position qualifications, and other criteria to determine if there is a proper match with the candidate and the clients job requirement.  

  • Continuously improve the Recruiter processes and systems to strive for the ultimate goal of creating a franchise prototype for the Recruiter position. This includes utilizing the Business Development Process activities of Innovation, Quantification, and Orchestration. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

LIST OF STANDARDS BY WHICH THE POSITION IS TO BE EVALUATED

  1. Regular as needed contact with the Recruiting Manager and client (if applicable) to discuss status of candidates and to review how current performance is measured on projected performance.

  2. Establish a goal of qualified candidates to be forwarded to clients. 

  3. Work ethic, commitment, and enthusiasm towards becoming a better Virtual Recruiter and a team player.

  4. Progress towards Business Development Process goals.

  4. UP TO DATE STATUS OF EVERY JOB
    Melon Sky understands and values the importance of a virtual recruiters time. Jobs are listed by priority. The goal is to give the virtual as much information (or at least the best idea) as possible on the status of each job, how many candidates have been submitted, the level of responsiveness that the client has had, how many other agencies are working on the position, and more. With this information, it can hopefully give the virtual recruiter information on which positions makes sense for him/her to work on.

 

WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO MAKE MONEY AS A VIRTUAL RECRUITER?

A virtual recruiter only gets paid if they make a job placement. In this increasingly virtual and instantaneous world, companies don't rely only on one source to find candidates. More and more they are relying on their network and affiliations to fill the positions. More companies are able to obtain candidates quicker than in the past because of the speed and connectivity of the world. In this Internet world, a good virtual recruiter can find candidates quicker - but so can everyone else. It takes more submittals than in the past to actually place a candidate.

Thus, our experience tells us that a virtual recruiter will need to submit anywhere from 30-40 candidates a month (or 1-2 a day) in order to make a placement and make any kind of money for the month. Anything, less than hitting those submittal numbers will make it increasingly difficult to make money in this field.
